British pure fibre provider CityFibre has reportedly signed a framework supply agreement with Hexatronic UK under which the latter will supply passive fibre-optic solutions, including fibre-optic cables, microducts, connectivity cabinets and aerial nodes. In a press release regarding the development, Hexatronic noted that the supply agreement follows on from a previous contract between the two companies announced back in February 2019 to supply similar solutions for CityFibre’s initial network build.
According to Hexatronic, the new agreement has an estimated value of GBP100 million (USD136 million) over the next three years, which the contract includes an option for CityFibre to extend it for a further two years.
Commenting, James Thomas, Director of Supply Chain at CityFibre, said: ‘We’re pleased to continue and grow our relationship with Hexatronic. They have consistently provided high-quality solutions to support our nationwide rollout and continue to work closely with us as partners. We look forward to our continued collaboration in delivering what is a critical project to upgrade the UK’s digital infrastructure.’
