US telecoms giant AT&T Communications has switched off its 3G network, in line with a previously disclosed timetable. The switch off date was yesterday (22 February), and the telco stated: ‘Act now – 3G is gone. We’ve phased out our 3G network starting 22 February 2022. We’re making make room for an even better network.’
Rival operator T-Mobile US has confirmed that it will shut down its 3G network on 1 July 2022, while Verizon Wireless will deactivate its 3G CDMA networks on 31 December 2022.
