Sales up 3.2% for Telia Company in 2021

Telia Company has reported net sales of SEK22.38 billion (USD2.39 billion) for the fourth quarter of 2021, down 0.4% year-on-year on a reported basis, but rising 3.3% like-for-like. Adjusted EBITDA dropped 1.6% as reported to SEK7.29 billion, while remaining unchanged on a comparable basis. Net income stood at SEK1.19 billion, reversing a loss of SEK24.47 billion in the year-ago period. The fourth quarter of 2020 included a one-time impairment related to goodwill in Finland and a capital loss from the disposal of Turkcell.

For full year 2021, net sales were down 1.0% as reported and up 3.2% like-for-like at SEK88.34 billion. Adjusted EBITDA dropped 2.0% to SEK29.86 billion (up 0.4% like-for-like), with total net income of SEK11.84 billion (loss of SEK22.84 billion in FY 2020). The telco reported a positive performance from its Swedish, Baltic and Pay-TV/Media businesses.
