PPF Group will cease using the Telenor brand for its operations in Serbia, Hungary and Bulgaria from 1 March 2022, when the trio will be rebranded as Yettel. The three operators were acquired by PPF in mid-2018 as part of its acquisition of Telenor Group’s Central and Eastern European (CEE) division and the entities continued to use the brand identity of their former parent company after the takeover. PPF notes that the new name will not be accompanied by a change in strategy. Regarding the brand update, Telenor Serbia DG Majk Misel was quoted as saying: ‘During 2022, we will launch new products and services, while our strategic focus remains unchanged: we want to further develop our business and the Serbian market, contribute to the economy and the community and offer quality services through a state-of-the-art network and infrastructure’.
