16 Dec 2021

Kazakhstan’s Kcell and Ericsson have opened a 5G ‘pre-commercial’ network zone in the city of Turkestan, which the partners aim to expand into ‘the first 5G city in Kazakhstan’, according to the cellco’s release to the KASE stock exchange. The agreement between the pair will see ‘large-scale’ 5G projects in the short term. Local press reports say that there are currently eight outdoor 5G base stations active in Turkestan.
