Mauritania completes backbone network project

The Mauritanian government has completed the final stage of its national backbone infrastructure rollout, which is being carried out under the West African Regional Communication Infrastructure Project (WARCIP). Ecofin reports that the final phase of the network, connecting the cities Aioun and Nema, was inaugurated last week. 1,700km of backbone infrastructure has been deployed by Chinese vendor ZTE since the project began in February 2019, taking the total network length to 4,000km.
