MTEL leads number porting in decade since service’s introduction

A total of 68,165 telephone numbers have been ported since the introduction of number portability in Montenegro on 1 December 2011, according to data published by telecoms watchdog the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP). Of the total, 52,743 numbers were ported to mobile networks and 15,422 to fixed networks.

In terms of mobile number portability (MNP), 24,845 numbers (47%) were transferred to MTEL, 17,591 (33%) were ported to Crnogorski Telecom (CT) and 10,307 (20%) to Telenor. MTEL also led for fixed porting requesting with 9,263 numbers (60%) switched to its network, followed by 3,925 (25%) to Telemach, 1,939 (13%) to Telenor and 285 (2%) to CT.
