Slovak ISP SWAN has launched a fixed wireless broadband service for home users utilising the 5G infrastructure of mobile subsidiary 4ka. The service is initially available in ten districts of Bratislava, offering download rates of up to 250Mbps for EUR20.99 (USD23.5) a month under a 24-month contract. The price will rise to EUR24.99 a month from March 2022. There is a one-off fee of EUR29.99 to install the external antenna, with this charge rising to EUR49.99 from March.

4ka has still to launch commercial 5G mobile services, with the cellco’s website saying that customers are currently able to trial its networks in Bratislava and Banska Bystrica.
