Greek telco Wind Hellas has created a new subsidiary dubbed Hellenic Openfiber to control its fibre infrastructure. A report from Ekathimerini says the new unit will ‘undertake the design, implementation, maintenance, operation and utilisation’ of active next generation access (NGA) infrastructure, as well as passive equipment and the core, distribution and access networks. The new company will act as a wholesale provider to Wind and other Greek telcos including Cosmote, Vodafone and Nova.
