Fiberklaar to deploy fibre network in Lokeren

10 Nov 2021

Fiberklaar, the joint venture between Belgian full-service telecoms operator Proximus and Sweden’s EQT Infrastructure, has confirmed it will proceed with its planned fibre broadband deployment in Lokeren after more than 20% of residents subscribed to the service during a demand aggregation campaign. The municipality will be one of the first cities covered by Fiberklaar as part of its planned EUR2.5 billion (USD2.9 billion) investment in an open fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network connecting 1.5 million homes and businesses in the Flanders region by 2028.
