The Philippines’ third telco DITO Telecommunity Corp (formerly Mislatel) yesterday (8 November) reached another milestone, breaking the four million subscriptions mark as its nationwide network rollout continues. ABS-CBN News cites the firm’s chief administration officer Adel Tamano as saying: ‘Today is another proud moment for DITO as we continue to build a world-class telecommunications infrastructure that Filipinos deserve – and now specifically for our now four-million subscribers.’ The newcomer, which launched commercial operations in March this year, now targets five million subscriptions before the end of 2021. To date it has built out more than 3,300 cell sites and is also targeting new areas for expansion this month, including sites in Negros Oriental, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pampanga, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Bataan, Quezon, Batangas, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Oriental Mindoro.
