Cable ONE agrees to acquire CableAmerica assets

US cableco Cable ONE (trading as Sparklight) has confirmed that a deal is in place to acquire selected assets from Missouri-based CableAmerica. The transaction occurred in October, but was only disclosed in the company’s 3Q21 reporting materials late last week. On 8 October the company entered into an agreement to purchase certain assets and assume certain liabilities from CableAmerica for USD113.0 million in cash on a debt-free basis, subject to customary post-closing adjustments. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close before the end of 2021.

Cable ONE reported total revenues of USD430.2 million in 3Q21, compared to USD339.0 million in the third quarter of 2020, an increase of 26.9%. The cableco ended the period with 1.030 million fixed broadband subscriptions.
