Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica has reported revenues of EUR9.298 billion (USD10.774 billion) for the three months ended 30 September 2021, down 11.1% year-on-year on a reported basis, but up 3.6% on an organic basis. Group OIBDA for the third quarter climbed 39.8% y-o-y to EUR3.734 billion, meanwhile, with the group citing ‘special factors’, including capital gains from a number of asset sales, including: Telefonica Deutschland’s tower portfolio, Telefonica Costa Rica and stakes in the Chilean InfraCo and FiBrasil. Finally, Telefonica reported net income of EUR706 million for 3Q21, compared to a net loss of EUR160 million in the year-ago period. Net financial debt stood at EUR25 billion as of 30 September 2021.
In operational terms, Telefonica reported consolidated mobile subscriptions of 274.264 million at 30 September 2021, alongside 25.713 million fixed broadband subscriptions, 30.521 million fixed voice subscriptions and 11.152 million pay-TV subscriptions.
