Santa Catarina-based Unifique – Brazil’s seventh largest ISP in terms of subscribers – has agreed to acquire Click SBS, which is based in Itapoa in Santa Catarina state. The deal is a minor one, however; Click is valued at BRL7.5 million (USD1.3 million) and serves just 3,000 fixed broadband subscriptions. TeleTime quotes a company press statement as saying: ‘Although the acquisition does not represent a relevant amount when compared to assets, net operating revenue or even the number of the company’s customers, the acquisition reinforces the company’s presence in the state of Santa Catarina.’
The report notes that Click SBS represents Unifique’s ninth regional bolt-on acquisition this year. Acquired ISPs include BK Tech, Naja, Neofibra, Grupo TKnet, Zappen, Neofibra, MKS NET and SSTV.
According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Unifique served a total of 370,784 fixed broadband subscriptions as of 30 June 2021.
