A1 Telekom Austria Group revenue up 5.5% in Q3

21 Oct 2021

A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.205 billion (USD1.40 billion) for the third quarter of 2021, a rise of 5.5% from EUR1.142 billion in the year-ago period, mainly driven by higher fixed and mobile service revenues, as well as growth in equipment revenues. Group EBITDA grew by 8.7% from EUR441.6 million in Q3 2020 to EUR480.2 million twelve months later, as higher service revenues outweighed increased costs and expenses. Excluding one-off and currency exchange effects as well as restructuring charges, group EBITDA increased by 9.0% year-on-year. Driven by the strong operational performance, A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a 26.9% increase in net profit from EUR142.6 million to EUR181.0 million over the same period.

At 30 September 2021 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 22.732 million wireless subscriptions, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year, as the number of contract subscriptions rose in almost all markets driven by strong growth in M2M, particularly in Austria and Belarus. Growth was also driven by the continued shift from pre-paid to contract offers, as well as ongoing strong demand for mobile Wi-Fi routers. Total wireline RGUs fell by 0.2% y-o-y from 6.066 million to 6.055 million at end-September 2021, as growth in high bandwidth broadband and TV RGUs was outweighed by declining numbers of low bandwidth broadband and fixed voice RGUs.
