United Arab Emirates (UAE) fixed and mobile operator Du has posted a 7.1% drop in third quarter adjusted net profit to AED283 million (USD77.1 million). Revenues were up 6.9%, however, at AED2.87 billion thanks to ‘sustained demand for broadband services and 5G handsets’. Mobile services contributed AED1.30 billion to overall revenues, while Du said that handset sales had doubled. EBITDA amounted to AED1.10 billion. Du claimed 6.5 million mobile subscriptions at the end of September 2021, adding that its 5G network now covers 90% of the UAE population.
