Comcast demonstrates ‘complete 10G connection’ via DOCSIS 4.0 tech

19 Oct 2021

US cable giant Comcast has announced that it has demonstrated a complete 10G connection – from network to modem – using what it believes to be the ‘world’s first virtualised cable modem termination system (vCMTS) powered by full duplex DOCSIS 4.0 technology’. The tests took place as part of the Virtual SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2021 event and were conducted by technologists in Philadelphia and Denver. Elad Nafshi, SVP of Next Generation Access Network at Comcast, commented: ‘With each new milestone, we take another big step closer to transitioning these technologies from the lab to the living room.’
