Slovakia launches 26GHz trial

Slovakia’s Office for Regulation of Electronic Communications & Postal Services (RU) has invited applications to participate in a six-month trial of services using 26GHz spectrum. The regulator is expecting interest from telcos, industry and academia, and is making 600MHz of spectrum available to allow each operator to deploy small-scale trial networks with a maximum of five base stations. An auction of 26GHz licences is expected in 2022.
