Liberty Global is rumoured to be considering the sale of around 3,000 mobile towers in Belgium which are owned by its local subsidiary Telenet. A report from Bloomberg, which cites people familiar with the matter, says that the portfolio could be worth at least EUR600 million (USD690 million). Telenet is said to be working with Goldman Sachs Group on the potential divestment. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Telenet is the second largest fixed and mobile operator in Belgium in terms of subscriptions, behind market leader Proximus.
