Oyster Telecom customers moved to Rostelecom under transfer deal

The customers of St Petersburg-based ISP and IT services provider United Networks (trading as Oyster Telecom) are being transferred to the network of national giant Rostelecom via the latter’s subsidiary Severen-Telecom, RBC reported. The deal involved only the client base, with no share purchase, according to the report, which said the transfer process began on 30 September.

Oyster Telecom has operated in St Petersburg since 2001, and provides internet access, IP telephony, public Wi-Fi zones and data transmission/dedicated leased line channels for corporate clients/wholesale customers among other services, with more than 1,400km of fibre-optic lines in the city.
