Sunrise UPC revamps plans following network integration

11 Oct 2021

Swiss full-service provider Sunrise UPC has launched a series of new tariffs and promotions following the integration of the fixed networks of its component companies Sunrise and UPC Switzerland, which were formally merged in May 2021. The operator notes that whilst subscribers to UPC’s mobile services were moved to Sunrise’s mobile network in June this year, Sunrise customers will be able to benefit from UPC’s fibre-optic cable network from today (11 October) via the merged entity’s expanded ‘Sunrise We’ offers. Further, customers that sign up to Sunrise’s ‘We Home’ (fixed broadband) or ‘We Combo’ (multi-service plans combining fixed broadband, pay-TV, fixed voice and mobile voice/data) plans will automatically receive the best broadband connection available at their location. Sunrise UPC claims that its hybrid network – comprising fibre, HFC and 5G technologies – is capable of providing gigabit download speeds to more then 90% of Swiss households.

In a statement from the company, Sunrise UPC CEO Andre Krause said of the overhaul: ‘We are continuing to move quickly to offer customers even more advantages from the merger. With the expanded Sunrise We portfolio, Sunrise customers are now benefitting for the first time from our combined Sunrise UPC network, the TV platform and more attractive mobile and landline bundles – both for private and business customers. This is strengthening our position as the leading convergence provider in Switzerland.’
