AT&T, Frontier strike enterprise fibre deal

7 Oct 2021

AT&T has confirmed that it will work with Frontier Communications to bring fibre-optic connectivity to large enterprise customers outside its current footprint. The two companies have also signed ‘multi-year strategic agreements’ that will support deployment of AT&T’s 5G mobility network. AT&T – which plans to reach 30 million locations with fibre by the end of 2025 – notes that the tie-up will focus on ‘markets where it does not own a fibre network or currently plan to build one’. For its part, Frontier plans to make fibre available to 600,000 new locations in 2021, resulting in approximately four million locations passed by the end of the year. Going forward, Frontier’s fibre networks will pass ten million locations by the end of 2025.
