Globe Telecom of the Philippines has said that more and more customers are switching to its new 5G services, and confirmed that the total reached 860,000 in July 2021. In a statement Monday (4 October), the cellco noted that while that total represents a drop in the ocean when compared to its overall mobile subscriber base (of 81.749 million), it expects the figure to grow at a swift pace ‘in the next few years’.
Globe’s in-deployment 5G network currently spans more than 1,800 locations across the Philippines including high population density areas such as the National Capital Region (NCR), Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Boracay, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and General Santos – with Zamboanga the next area expected to be covered.
