PLDT considering USD500m sale of data centres

7 Sep 2021

PLDT of the Philippines is reportedly considering plans to sell its data centre assets for a potential USD500 million and to that end is working with JPMorgan Chase & Co on the potential sale. According to Bloomberg, which cites people familiar with the matter who asked to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the information, talks are ongoing but PLDT may ultimately decide to keep the data centres. The announcement comes at a time when the Filipino giant is also weighing the disposal of tower assets in a possible sale and leaseback arrangement. PLDT’s data centres are owned and managed by its ePLDT subsidiary.
