Intertelecom CDMA continuing only in Odessa from November

11 Aug 2021

Ukraine’s Intertelecom is continuing the process of phasing out CDMA-based wireless network services in regions around the country, with its latest announcement confirming that from 1 November 2021 it will cease providing CDMA mobile internet access (and fixed broadband access) in 13 regions: Vinnitsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv oblast, Kyiv city, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy and Chernihiv. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, the same regions lost access to Intertelecom’s CDMA voice services on 1 July. The latest shutdown plans mean that Intertelecom will operate CDMA services (data and voice) in the Odessa region only. In other regions, the company will continue offering a VoIP-based SIP telephony service.
