Telekom FTTH network reaches 2.5m homes

Telekom Deutschland (TD), the domestic operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), upgraded fixed broadband speeds for an additional 212,000 households in June. The firm says that a total of 34.2 million homes can now access maximum data rates of up to 100Mbps and the number of 250Mbps-enabled lines has reached 26.0 million nationwide. In addition, TD states that the total number of households connected to its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network rose by 117,000 in June 2021, to 2.5 million, enabling maximum speeds of up to 1Gbps.
