Dutch quadruple-play cableco VodafoneZiggo’s revenues grew 3% year-on-year in Q2 2021 to EUR1.008 billion (USD1.197 billion), marking its ninth consecutive quarter of improvement, primarily driven by customer base and fixed ARPU growth. Adjusted EBITDA decreased 2% y-o-y to EUR473 million, while net loss decreased 92% y-o-y to EUR13 million, as lower losses on the company’s derivative portfolio offset lower foreign currency exchange gains.
VodafoneZiggo added 56,000 net mobile post-paid SIMs, bringing the year-to-date additions to 117,000, giving it a post-paid base of 4,873,700 at end-June, with a total mobile user base of 5,270,000 (up from 5,104,400 y-o-y). Total fixed internet RGUs declined by 6,000 in April-June, compared to a 9,000 decline in the previous quarter, leaving a total of 3,347,800 broadband customers. Under its DOCSIS 3.1 rollout, 3.4 million households were covered by 1Gbps speeds by mid-2021, representing 47% of the operator’s cable footprint, on track to achieve 80% penetration by the end of the year, with nationwide coverage planned in 2022.
