Ukrtelecom’s H1 revenue climbs 10%; internet turnover up 7%

In the first half of 2021 Ukrainian fixed network operator Ukrtelecom’s total revenue amounted to UAH3.4 billion (USD125 million), a 10% improvement year-on-year, driving a 29% increase in EBITDA to UAH1.1 million. ‘Revenue from telecommunications services’ was reported at UAH2.4 billion, with internet revenue growing by more than 7% y-o-y to over UAH1 billion in January-June 2021, helped by an 83% reported increase in the fibre-optic internet user base to 203,000 by mid-year. In the B2B segment, internet revenue increased by 10% to UAH226 million in 1H21, and in the residential segment by nearly 7% to UAH786 million.

Ukrtelecom continues to connect small towns and villages to high speed optical internet, with work currently ongoing in almost 150 settlements. The group’s total capital investments in the first half of 2021 amounted to almost UAH310 million.
