Estonian fixed and mobile operator Telia Eesti says its 5G network is now available in 77 locations in 14 main cities across the country. The total is set to rise to more than 100 locations by the end of the year. The cities where services are currently available are Tallinn, Tartu, Parnu, Viimsi, Rakvere, Sauga, Juri, Lool, Kardla, Kuressaare, Saku, Lohusuu, Kauks and Sillamae. Telia is Estonia’s sole commercial 5G operator, having launched services in parts of Tallinn, Tartu and Parnu in November.
Robert Pajos, Chairman of the Management Board of Telia Eesti, said: ‘We … hope that the country will move forward with the auction of the 3.6GHz frequency band as soon as possible, which would enable even better use of the potential offered by 5G technology and bring new services to the market, such as the long-awaited 5G home internet.’
