KCOM brings forward FTTP rollout in two Lincolnshire towns

22 Jul 2021

Hull-based broadband provider KCOM has brought forward the expansion of its full fibre network to two north Lincolnshire communities. In a press release regarding the development, KCOM confirmed that work to connect ‘thousands’ of properties in the towns of Crowle and Haxey had been brought forward several months to coincide with road resurfacing work by North Lincolnshire Council and to minimise disruption to local residents.

Work in the two areas forms part of KCOM’s GBP100 million (USD137 million) investment in the first phase of an expansion plan aimed at bringing the benefits of ultrafast broadband to communities across the region. KCOM notes that under this plan it has already reached communities including Barton-Upon-Humber, Brigg, Barrow, Broughton, Scawby, Epworth, Messingham, Hibaldstow and Kirton in Lindsey with its gigabit-capable fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network.
