Elisa Corporation has published its financial results for the quarter ended 30 June 2021, reporting a 5% year-on-year increase in revenue. With total turnover increasing to EUR484 million (USD572 million) for the three-month period, up from EUR461 million a year earlier, it attributed the growth mainly to its acquisition of industrial software provider camLine, increased mobile turnover and ‘Elisa Viihde Viaplay cooperation’. Mobile service revenue was reported to have increased by 4.2% y-o-y, meanwhile, to EUR213 million.
In terms of other key financial metrics, Elisa’s EBITDA for Q2 2021 totalled EUR166 million, down marginally from the EUR168 million in the corresponding period of 2020. However, with the company’s EBITDA figure including EUR6 million in one-off restructuring costs relating to personnel reductions, Elisa said that comparable EBITDA was actually up 2% on an annualised basis at EUR172 million, as efficiency improvements and revenue growth impacted EBITDA positively. Net profit, meanwhile, totalled EUR79 million in the period under review.
In operational terms, Elisa reported a total mobile subscriber base of 4.850 million as of 30 June 2021, up from 4.748 million a year earlier, with the lion’s share of those users – 4.178 million, up from 4.090 million – in its domestic territory. Group-wide, fixed broadband accesses totalled 665,000 as of mid-2021, down from 690,000 a year earlier, while fixed voice accesses continued on a downward trend, falling to 86,000 from 108,000.
