Polsat increases Netia stake to almost 98%

Polish pay-TV and telecoms group Cyfrowy Polsat has increased its stake in fixed line operator Netia to 97.82% following the latest phase of its buyout of minority shareholders. Polsat acquired an initial 32% interest in Netia in December 2017 and by late 2020 had raised this to almost 66%, at which point it announced a tender offer for the 34.02% of shares that it did not own. The offer for 114.2 million shares was valued at PLN548 million (USD143 million).
