DITO network now live in 140 cities/municipalities

The Philippines’ third telco DITO Telecommunity has announced that following the launch of services in a further 17 areas, its network reach now encompasses 140 cities/municipalities across the Philippines. In a statement today (1 July), DITO – which is owned by a consortium comprising companies owned by Filipino billionaire Dennis Uy and China Telecom – also confirmed it is extending the duration of its promo for new subscribers. ‘From 1 to 31 July 2021, new and existing subscribers can avail of DITO’s 25GB of high speed data for 30 days with unlimited texts to all networks, unlimited DITO-to-DITO calls, and 300 minutes of calls to other mobile networks for only PHP199 [USD4.1],’ it said. Further, another offer includes 10GB of bundled data for PHP30 a month, with unlimited on-net calls, 300 off-net calls and unlimited SMS to any number.

The new areas targeted by the service rollout are: Gen. Mamerto and Rizal (both Nueva Ecija); Amadeo, Indang and Mendez (in Cavite); Padre Garcia, Rosario and San Juan (in Batangas); Silay City (Negros Occidental); and Balingasag, Talisayan, Manticao, Sugbongcogon, Medina, Kinoguitan, Binuangan and Balingoan (all in Misamis Oriental).
