Deutsche Telekom (DT) is offering investors the opportunity to acquire a stake in a new fibre-optic network provider, Reuters reports, citing three people familiar with the matter. The sources told the news agency that DT and its adviser Deutsche Bank are targeting investors such as Dutch funds APG and PGGM and Canada’s Brookfield and CDPQ, as well as sovereign wealth funds.

As per the article, DT’s initial plan will see it roll out fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity to four million households. Investors will be offered stakes equivalent to up to half of the project’s equity, the sources said, while further extensions of the network are likely.
