US-based all-fibre B2B player Lightpath (formerly Altice Business) has agreed three acquisitions in the Greater Boston area. The acquisition of Cambridge Network Solutions (CNS) and a second, unnamed area connectivity provider have already closed, while the purchase of fibre network assets from Hub Fiber is expected to close within 30 days. The telco says that the transactions were funded with cash on its balance sheet.
As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, Altice USA closed the previously announced sale of 49.99% of its Lightpath fibre enterprise business on 1 December 2020. The stake was sold to Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP) for an implied enterprise value of USD3.2 billion. Altice USA retains a 50.01% interest in Lightpath and maintains control of the company.
