Uganda’s Capital Markets Authority (CMA) says it expects the country’s major telcos to have listed at least 20% of their shares within the next twelve months, according to a report from The Monitor which cites CMA chairperson Jacqueline Kobusingye. Under the terms of their concessions, National Telecommunications Operator (NTO) licensees have agreed to offer shares on the local stock exchange, with MTN Uganda already having said that it will list before the end of this year, pending regulatory approvals. NTO licences are held by MTN, Airtel, Lycamobile and Uganda Telecom Ltd (UTL).
