CityFibre confirms start of network rollout in Bath

8 Jun 2021

British pure fibre provider CityFibre has announced the start of construction work in the city of Bath. In a press release regarding the matter, CityFibre noted that it is investing GBP25 million (USD35 million) on the deployment of a city-wide network, and said that, along with its build partner Kier Group, it is working in close partnership with Bath & North East Somerset Council and local communities to deliver ‘a fast rollout while minimising potential disruption’. According to CityFibre, the overall project is expected to be completed by 2023, but the first services will go live ‘much sooner’.

Meanwhile, the announcement of the start of work in Bath comes less than a week after CityFibre confirmed it had broken ground on its rollout in the city of Worcester; in that location the operator is spending GBP21 million on its city-wide network deployment, with the overall project there scheduled for completion by ‘early 2024’.
