Telefonica closes EUR900m LatAm Telxius tower sale

4 Jun 2021

Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica has announced that its Telxius infrastructure unit has completed the sale of its Latin American tower business to American Tower Corporation (ATC). The transaction was valued at EUR900 million (USD1.1 billion), and includes cell towers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru.

TeleGeography notes that the deal comes a matter of days after Telxius closed the EUR6.2 billion sale of its tower division in Europe (Spain/Germany). In total, the two deals – which were agreed in January and structured as separate, independent transactions – included 30,722 tower sites.
