Zayo completes takeover of Intelligent Fiber Network

Colorado-based Zayo Group Holdings closed its acquisition of Indiana Fiber Network (Intelligent Fiber Network, IFN) on 1 June. The acquisition adds more than 5,000 route miles of dense fibre with on-net connections to nearly 1,000 enterprise buildings in cities including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Columbus, Terre Haute and South Bend. IFN was previously owned by 21 Indiana-based telcos and one rural electric cooperative.

According to the press release, the deal represents Zayo’s 46th acquisition and its first under a private ownership consortium led by EQT Partners and Digital Colony Partners.
