Serbian telecoms watchdog the Republic Agency for Electronic Communications (RATEL) has issued a public call inviting interested parties to submit expressions of interest (EoI) regarding the use of spectrum in the 700MHz, 900MHz, 2100MHz, 2600MHz and 3500MHz bands for mobile or fixed communications networks. RATEL requests that applicants submit detailed proposals, setting out the planned services that the spectrum will be used for, the technologies that the company intends to use and the area that would be covered by the spectrum in question – including the number of base stations that would be deployed over the first five years – as well as the company’s preferred auction type. The deadline for the submission of applications by interested parties is 1 July 2021. Once the applications are processed, RATEL will issue a public notice regarding the results, before proceeding with the next stage of the bidding and licence allocation processes.
RATEL notes that the spectrum available for auction comprises: 2×30MHz and 1×15MHz supplemental downlink (SDL) in the 700MHz band; 2×1MHz in the 900MHz range; 2×15MHz in the 2100MHz band; 2×70MHz and 1×30MHz in the 2600MHz range; and 1×400MHz of 3500MHz airwaves.
