MASMOVIL enlists Ericsson for Standalone 5G upgrade

Grupo MASMOVIL has awarded Ericsson a contract to upgrade its core network with 5G Standalone (SA) technology. This core network transformation project includes the deployment of the vendor’s dual-mode 5G Core, Cloud Native Infrastructure, Cloud IMS and 5G Managed Services solutions. MASMOVIL already offers 5G services in more than 300 municipalities across all Spanish provinces and over the next few days the telco says it will expand the coverage of these services to new populations.
