NTT units add 400Gbps high speed broadband for corporate users

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NTT Corp) regional units NTT East and NTT West have expanded their respective product portfolios with the addition of a 400Gbps ‘High-speed Broadband Access Service’, available to the corporate user segment. In a press release, NTT Corp noted that with both units already offering high speed, large-capacity Ethernet communication of 10Gbps/100Gbps – which it claims is ideal for data centre connection and transmission/reception of large-capacity data such as video – it is now adding 400Gbps ‘to meet the needs for faster lines arising from increased communication traffic due to system cloud computing and data centre migration’. The new offer features high-capacity bandwidth-guaranteed Ethernet communication between two point-to-point bases specified by the customer (limited to sites within the same prefecture), which it claims can be provided at a lower cost than its multi-site communication service. TeleGeography understands the base price for the new service will be in the region of JPY4.950 million (USD45,650) per billing period.
