US telecoms giant Verizon Communications has reported total operating revenues of USD32.9 billion for the three months ended 31 March 2021, up 4.0% from USD31.6 billion on an annualised basis. Meanwhile, first quarter operating income was reported at USD7.8 billion, up 18.1% from USD6.6 billion in 1Q20. Finally, net income for 1Q21 was reported at USD5.4 billion, up 25.4% from USD4.3 billion year-on-year.
In operational terms, Verizon’s Consumer unit closed out 31 March 2021 with 94.230 million wireless subscribers, 6.713 million broadband customers and 3.227 million fixed voice users. The telco’s Business unit, meanwhile, claimed 26.621 million wireless subscribers and 480,000 broadband customers.
