Pan-African broadband infrastructure provider CSquared has entered into a partnership agreement with Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) to lease excess capacity on the electricity transmission company’s fibre network to mobile network operators and ISPs in the country, reports GhanaWeb. The companies believe the collaboration will enable the deployment of broadband infrastructure capable of delivering affordable high speed broadband to homes and businesses, particularly those in more remote areas of Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi, and other underserved areas of the country. As part of the partnership, CSquared will provide customer and technical support, network security and last mile connectivity, ensuring a better, safer and faster customer experience.

‘What is significant about this partnership is the benefit it will bring to the average Ghanaian in terms of internet broadband access and affordability,’ stated GRIDCo CEO Jonathan Amoako-Baah, adding: ‘In an age when technology is dictating the pace of everything we do, no one should be left behind in harnessing its power, and we are committed to helping enforce that.’
