Crnogorski Telekom ordered to reduce call prices from 1 May

Montenegro’s telecoms watchdog the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP) has ordered Crnogorski Telekom (CT) to reduce the price of calls on its fixed network with effect from 1 May. Following an analysis of the operator’s cost model, EKIP has instructed CT to cut the cost of calls to other fixed networks in Montenegro by 15%, calls to mobile networks within the country by 30%, international calls to fixed networks in Zone II (Europe) by 20%, international calls to fixed and mobile networks in Zone III (the US and Canada) by 20%, international calls to fixed networks of Zone IV (World) by 40% and international calls to Zone IV mobile networks by 30%.

The regulator has also ordered CT to apply lower prices for wholesale services, with fixed termination rates for national calls to be reduced by 10%, ADSL packages by between 15% and 45%, and leased lines by an average of 45%. In addition, wholesale mobile termination rates applied by CT, MTEL and Telenor will also be reduced by 7.5%.
