Flow BVI introduces gigabit speeds

7 Apr 2021

Liberty Latin America (LLA)-backed Flow has introduced a new 1Gbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband package in the British Virgin Islands, branded ‘Gigafast’. Country Manager Ravindra Maywahlall told the BVI News: ‘As we’ve all seen with the impact of COVID, internet connectivity and bandwidth is key – not just bandwidth but reliable connectivity. And it doesn’t get more reliable than fibre straight into your home.’

TeleGeography notes that the telco’s FTTH deployment commenced in 2018, as Flow sought to rebuild its fixed line infrastructure – the bulk of which was destroyed by the Category 5 storms Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria in September 2017.
