ETB, ZTE achieve 1.2Gbps speeds in Bogota 5G trial

Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota (ETB) has teamed up with Chinese vendor ZTE to stage a 5G trial in its local market. According to BN Americas the test generated download transmission speeds of up to 1.22Gbps. The Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (Ministerio de Tecnologias de la Informacion y las Comunicaciones, MinTIC) permitted ETB to utilise unspecified spectrum – presumed to be the 3.5GHz band – for 5G testing purposes.
