Ucom Armenia tests 1Gbps

23 Mar 2021

Ucom, which offers fixed line, broadband and mobile services across the whole territory of Armenia, has announced the start of trials of fibre-optic services delivering speeds of up to 1Gbps to end users, as well as the latest Wi-Fi 6-standard modems which it says are ten times faster than those currently commercially deployed. Although the trials are only taking place in a limited number of homes, selected users are being offered use of the company’s uMix L package for free for six months which, in addition to the ultra-high speed internet connection includes TV (200 channels) and fixed voice telephony. Ucom’s current premier broadband speed – i.e. available commercially – is a 120Mbps offering.
