Tet to introduce 10Gbps transmission speeds

5 Mar 2021

Latvian fixed line operator Tet has unveiled plans to offer symmetrical down/uplink transmission speeds of 10Gbps to its customers via its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network. The upgrade will initially be made available to 1,000 homes in Riga, with scope to extend the network in the capital and elsewhere in Latvia. Announcing the development, Uldis Tatarcuks, the telco’s chairman of the board, commented: ‘Very soon, with impeccable speed and capacity, 10Gbps internet will meet the highest requirements of all family members, as well as helping to promote the creation of new technologies, infrastructure and innovations.’
