Greek telco Cosmote has expanded its 5G network to cover 17 cities, including 90% of the populations of the country’s two largest cities, Athens and Thessaloniki. A report from Capital says the newly covered areas include Patras, Corfu and parts of southern and eastern Attica. Cosmote is planning to cover 50% of the population nationwide by the end of this year. The telco says it has invested EUR5 billion (USD6 billion) in its high speed infrastructure over the past decade, with a further EUR2 billion to be spent in the next four years.
